We deliver projects with a hands‑on approach, working closely with trusted subcontractors and suppliers to achieve exceptional standards.

The Role

We’re looking for an experiencedQuantity Surveyorto manage the commercial side of our care home projects, with a strong emphasis onsubcontractor management.

You’ll be responsible for subcontractors’ procurement, valuations, and cost control, working closely with site teams and directors to keep projects on track financially.

This role suits someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day running of projects, not just office-based work.

(This is an office based role located in Burnham-on-sea.)

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and appoint subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare tender packages, review quotes, prepare and manage JCT contracts and issue purchase orders.
  • Manage subcontractor payments, valuations, and variations.
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and measure works completed.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare monthly cost reports/CVRs.
  • Manage change orders and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Support the Project and Site Managers in maintaining budget control and commercial efficiency.
  • Liaise directly with site teams, office team and directors on financial matters.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction, ideally residential or care home projects.
  • Preparation and evaluation of Bills of Quantities
  • Cost estimation and tender documentation
  • Resource planning and production scheduling
  • Proven experience in subcontractor management and procurement.
  • Good understanding of JCT contracts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.
