GBR Recruitment is working exclusively in partnership with a well‑established and highly progressive full‑turnkey industrial & commercial construction company based in Newark, recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor (non‑chartered) to manage multiple new‑build industrial & commercial projects. The role involves overseeing all budgets & costs from the initial site inception stage through to full build completion and handover.
Responsibilities
- Assist with managing multiple build projects from inception to completion/client handover.
- Manage all site budgets and costs for multiple projects across multiple sites and end‑using sectors.
- Prepare accurate monthly site valuations (CVR’s).
- Arrange weekly / fortnightly / monthly payments of direct labour & subcontractor labour trades.
- Analyse and review subcontractor invoices/applications.
- Keep Payment Record Sheets up‑to‑date following completion of each payment run.
- Prepare and complete monthly cost / value reconciliation.
- Prepare subcontractor procurement tender lists for sign‑off by the SMT.
- Prepare tender documents / bid packs, sending them out to the relevant subcontractors for pricing of services.
- Analyse tenders upon return and award tenders based on price, quality & delivery timescales.
- Carry out pre‑order meetings with subcontractors.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Attributes & Qualifications
- Quantity Surveying professional (QS or Senior QS) with experience across most build types.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and extensive experience on varied construction projects (£M projects).
- BSc Hons Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction‑related degree, or equivalent time served in a QS capacity.
- Strong written & verbal communication and negotiation skills.

- Commute from Newark, Mansfield, Southwell, Radcliffe on Trent, Grantham, Lincoln, Sleaford, Spalding, Boston, Gainsborough, Bardney, Horncastle, Louth, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Retford, Worksop and surrounding areas with strong connections to the A1 / A46.
- Position is 5 working days (Monday to Friday) in the office or on client construction sites; some hybrid working may be available on odd days.
