Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Salary: c£65,000 plus benefits
Location: Kent

Pinnacle have an exciting opportunity with a contractor and developer based in Kent.

The company have been established for over 20 years and are a well recognised name that deliver around 600 – 800 units per annum. Much of what is built will be affordable homes and in conjunction with housing associations and residential providers.

They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with at least 3 years experience who has worked at a Developer of Contractor that is able to produce cost plans from drawings and estimate building costs of Residential projects. Some of these schemes will be re-cladding of existing high rise schemes and exposure to this will be an advantage.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding of JCT Design & Build Contracts
  • Tendering of large sub-contract packages
  • Preparation of Cost/ Benefit analysis of design options
  • Ensuring all costs are tracked and validated
  • Experience of re-claddings and fire improvements
  • Producing accurate and competitive cost estimates
  • cost comparison and sub-contractor selection
  • Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliation’s, reports and forecasts
  • Dealing with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues
  • negotiation with contractors
  • Reviewing and analysing of contractors tender submissions
  • Value engineering
  • Tendering
  • Estimating from RIBA stage 0 initial concepts through to RIBA stage 5
