Quantity Surveyor – Drylining / Partitioning / SFS

Location: Rainham, Essex (4 days office-based, 1 day site)

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + tailored package (DOE)

A growing specialist interiors and drylining contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support its Managing Director with commercial management across multiple projects in London and the South East. The company delivers high-quality drylining, partitioning, ceilings, and SFS packages for main contractors and developers, with a strong reputation for reliability and workmanship.

Role

You’ll take the lead on day-to-day commercial duties — from tender stage through to final account — ensuring robust cost control, accurate reporting, and smooth communication between site and office. This is a hands‑on position within a close‑knit team where your experience will make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage project valuations, variations, and cost reports.
  • Oversee procurement and subcontractor packages, including payments and change control.
  • Measure and value works from drawings and on‑site verification.
  • Support tender submissions and pricing exercises.
  • Liaise closely with site management and the MD to ensure commercial alignment.
  • Manage final accounts and maintain strong supply‑chain relationships.
About You
  • 5‑7 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in drylining, partitioning, ceilings, or SFS.
  • Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, measurement, and valuation.
  • Comfortable working independently with direct input to the company owner.
  • Confident communicator able to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Commercially astute, detail‑driven, and proactive.
  • Full UK driving licence.
