Job summary

One Way Resourcing is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a civil engineering contractor in Ramsgate. You will manage commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final account, collaborating with site, estimating and procurement teams to deliver accurate cost control and robust commercial governance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure, with advantageous exposure to heavy civils, earthworks, rail or sea defence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure.
• Commercial management from procurement through final account.
• Experience with cost/value reconciliations and cashflow forecasting.
• Ability to liaise with clients and manage subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and submission of applications for payment and variations
• Preparation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and cost/value forecasts
• Reviewing site records and documentation to support variations, additional payments and claims
• Procurement and negotiation of subcontractor and material packages
• Commercial management of subcontractors through to final account
• Preparation of forward work schedules and cash flow forecasts
• Ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are issued correctly and on time
• Monitoring payments and working closely with the accounts team
• Providing commercial support to site and contracts management teams
• Working alongside estimating and procurement teams
• Liaising directly with clients on commercial matters and developing strong working relationships
