Overview

Corrie Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a medium‑sized, Highland‑based civil engineering contractor heavily involved in the renewables sector, for a full‑time Quantity Surveyor. The client is open to applications from both Assistant Quantity Surveyors and experienced Quantity Surveyors, offering an excellent opportunity for career development and progression within a respected regional contractor. The successful candidate will manage the commercial aspects of two substation projects – initially based partly in Caithness, followed by a large new project south of Inverness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the commercial and financial elements of assigned civil engineering projects
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim and final accounts
  • Administer contracts and manage subcontractor procurement and payments
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are met
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and contract requirements
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard commercial management software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel between project sites (Caithness and Inverness areas)
