Job description

A reputable civil engineering contractor operating within the water sector is seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a long-term contract basis to support the delivery of key water infrastructure projects in the Bristol area.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a stable, long-term contract within a regulated water framework, offering hybrid working across site, office and home.

The Role

You will play a key commercial role in the successful delivery of water-based projects, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial management of water infrastructure projects from inception to final account
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports
  • Subcontractor procurement, valuations and payment management
  • Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Management of variations, change control and compensation events
  • Providing commercial support to project and site teams
  • Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and internal procedures
About You

This role will suit a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in the water or utilities sector.

You will ideally have:

  • A Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management qualification (Degree or equivalent)
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within water, utilities or civil engineering
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Ability to work autonomously within a project environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
