Job summary

FindCore are assisting a leading construction consultancy in recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Glasgow with hybrid working. Role available alongside Experienced QS and Assistant Director QS tracks.

You will lead pre- and post-contract QS work, cost planning, procurement, cost reporting and final accounts across diverse projects. MRICS Chartered status and a Quantity Surveying degree are required, with substantial experience and strong client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• MRICS Chartered status.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying experience.
• Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Experience delivering projects across a range of sectors.
• Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proactive, collaborative and organized approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Public-sector project experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-contract QS services across a varied project portfolio.
• Prepare cost plans, estimates, budgets and feasibility studies.
• Manage procurement exercises, tender documentation and analysis.
• Produce cost reports, valuations and payment recommendations.
• Maintain financial control throughout each project.
• Lead value engineering, risk management and change-control processes.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Manage projects from feasibility through to completion.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support their development.
• Contribute to business development and help secure new opportunities.

Education

MRICS Chartered status

Degree in Quantity Surveying

Strong pre- & post-contract QS experience

Knowledge of JCT & NEC contracts

Experience across sectors

Excellent client-facing & stakeholder management

Commercial awareness & problem-solving

Multi-project management

Proactive, collaborative & organized

Full UK driving licence

Extremely exciting time to join a large company that has recently partnered with another major company.

There are 3 roles available - Experienced QS or Senior QS or Assistant Director QS.

Permanent position. This role will be based in Glasgow / Hybrid.
