Job summary

Anwyl Group in North Wales is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control, sub-contractor administration, and internal valuations for prestigious projects. You will handle health and safety procedures, ensure programme adherence, and work closely with finance to manage payments and CVR reporting.

The role requires experience in cost forecasting, budgeting, and on-site management, with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of QS experience.
  • Good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health and Safety requirements.
  • IT literate
  • Degree or HNC in Construction/Building/Surveying would be preferable.
  • Experience of planning.
  • Ability to follow direction and meet deadlines without compromising on safety and quality.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
  • Ability to negotiate, motivate and lead the team on site.
  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Always maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Manage internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and quantifying materials and labour.
  • Commercial Management including WIP, cash flow forecasting, and site budgets.
  • Monitor and report costs including variances and CVR processes.
  • Attend site meetings and manage valuations and payments with contractors and subs.
  • Input and maintain computer-based databases and systems (Housebuild, E-vision).
  • Attend Pre-Start, Pre-Tender, and specification meetings as required.

Job description

This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work on various prestigious projects ensuring set targets and deadlines are reached safely, accurately and within tight time-scales.

As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for cost control, administration of sub-contracts, production of internal valuations/ costs to complete and for administration of health and safetyprocedures.

Location: Ewloe, North Wales
Hours: 8.30am- 5.15pm (Mon- Thurs)
8.30am- 4.00pm (Fri)
Salary: Attractive salary + Car Allowance
Report to: Commercial Director
Primary Responsibilities
Scheduling and quantifying materials and labour
  • Ensure that commercial procedures comply with Anwyl Group Commercial Policy and Procedures asset out by the Commercial Director
  • Work alongside other departments to ensure project viability and improvecost effectiveness.
  • Ensure all specifications and programmes are complied with and that quality is not compromised.
  • Process applications and payments and resolve any issues in conjunction with the Finance Department.
Commercial Management
  • Assist in WIP and cash flow forecasting.
  • Monitor, reconcile and recharge any costs, which relate to shared cost items with either other businesses within the Group or external Companies.
  • Calculate all the prime costs on developments within your remit, reporting any movements in the costs since the preparation of the land viability or Site Budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of development Site Budgets for authorisation by the Management Team at the appropriate time.
  • Maintain the development budget in the internal system.
  • Manage valuations and attend meetingson site.
Monitor and report costs
  • Monitor and explain all cost movements within the project valuation/CVR.
  • Responsibilityfor processing Contractor, subcontractor and consultant orders and payments, variation orders and day works.
  • Review any variations on 3rd and liaise withCM/CD for approvals.
  • Undertake site valuations of production at budgeted coston a monthly basis.
  • Carry outfullCVR process and prepare and present information for monthly finance meetings.
  • Create Cost toCompletesand ensureCurrentbudget is up to date.
  • Forecast final accounts and prepare and presentcostto complete reports.
General
  • Be aware of all codes of practice that impactonestimating e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc.

  • Attend Pre-Start, Pre-Tender, specification and any other relevant meetings as required.

  • Attendsiteon a regular basisto complete all Commercial functions.
  • Any other duties as required by the Commercial Manager/Commercial Director
The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
