Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks | Remote (covering the South West) | Up to £60K + Car Allowance

Are you a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge within the electrical utilities or groundworks sector? This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing specialist business connecting organisations to the electricity grid at scale.

As part of their continued expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their senior operations team. You’ll play a key role in cost management, contract administration, and project delivery across a portfolio of high-value electrical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor
  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of assigned projects, including cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Subcontractors to monitor and manage costs.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial updates to Senior Management.
  • Administer and manage design and build electrical utilities construction contracts.
  • Lead progress meetings, review financial milestones, and manage contractual instructions or claims.
  • Ensure all works meet relevant legislative, regulatory, and health & safety standards.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor (MRICS preferred).
  • Proven experience in construction, ideally within electrical utilities, HV/LV, or ICP environments.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and health & safety practices.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and internal cost tracking or finance systems.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
