A large SME Construction Group in Newcastle Upon Tyne is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a portfolio of projects up to £7 million. The role includes procurement advice, preparing documents, and risk management. Candidates should have strong commercial awareness and a demonstrated ability to manage contracts effectively. Responsibilities

  • Management of a portfolio of projects.
  • Compile programme-based cost to complete / project budgets.
  • Advising on procurement strategy.
  • Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Flag areas of Commercial Risk to Commercial Manager.
  • Sub-Contractor Procurement.
  • Prepare Costs for Tenders.
  • Undertaking CVR's.
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control.
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk.
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
  • Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients.
  • Agree Final Accounts.
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team as needed.
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
  • Assist senior management with the preparation of contractual claims.

Quantity Surveyor – Newcastle Upon Tyne. Reporting to the Commercial Director, we are recruiting for a Senior QS to join a large SME Construction Group of companies with offices throughout the UK working on Civil Engineering schemes up to £7 million.
