Job summary

LanceSoft, Inc. is looking for a Quantity Surveyor in Stone, UK, with hybrid work (1–2 days remote per week). The 11‑month contract requires experience in cost management, subcontract handling, and cost reporting to the Project Manager.

Job description

Overview

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Stone, UK - Hybrid (1 to 2 days remote work per week)
Duration: 11 months Contract

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer sub-contractor and materials costs for assigned projects and report on contract progress costs.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and specifications for projects.
• Undertake cost planning, cost analysis, site measurements for progress payments and variations which occur on site.
• Prepare measurements for gross lettable areas, plot ratio analysis and planning applications.
• Report on job progress and cost control to the Project Manager.
• Prepare progress claims on clients for payment of work done.
• Check and authorize payments to sub-contractors and major suppliers.
• Liaise with Project Managers and designers in coordination of designs and for solving related problems.
• Liaise with and provide input to purchasing and site procurement requirements. An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
• May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision.
• Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.
• May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Qualifications

• Relevant third level degree qualification (Bachelor s degree) in commercial related field i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Ideally be chartered / working towards chartership.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 (five) years of work experience in heavy / industrial business and preferably in power sector.
• Minimum of 3 (three) years in subcontract management experience, this includes commercial, con-tractual and construction awareness.
• Technical background is advantageous.
• Experience of successfully coordinating and managing multiple subcontracts / tasks effectively.
• Proficient with standard form and bespoke contracts.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.

Additional Information

• Driver Licence and vehicle mandatory to travel to sites Wrenhall and Peterhead.
• Expenses will be covered (travel and accommodation) by client.
