Overview

Vertical Recruitment is working in close partnership with a leading technical consultancy to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing infrastructure team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a business delivering transformative cost and commercial consultancy services across nationally significant projects in Power, Substations, and Overhead Lines.

As part of the Infrastructure Division, you will contribute to a wide range of challenging and impactful projects, ensuring that clients receive expert advice and solutions to meet their needs. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Your Role

You'll provide quantity surveying and cost consultancy support across a variety of infrastructure schemes in the energy sector. Working closely with internal and external teams, you\'ll help ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and in compliance with client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and cost planning
  • Production of feasibility studies and cost plans from early-stage design information
  • Preparation of tender documentation and procurement management
  • NEC contract administration and commercial reporting
  • Risk analysis, value engineering, and change control
  • Regular interface with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary consultants
  • Monitoring project progress and cost against programme and budget
  • Supporting and guiding junior team members, including APC candidates
  • Leading client liaison and assisting with business development
About You
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Ideally MRICS or working toward chartership
  • Strong experience delivering cost consultancy within infrastructure projects
  • Sector knowledge in power, utilities, energy, or heavy engineering preferred
  • Proficient in NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to lead and advise clients in a collaborative, solutions-focused manner
