QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Duration: 3 Months (Temporary Contract)

IR35 Status: Inside IR35 (Engagement via Umbrella Company, PAYE also available)

Rate: Negotiable Daily Rate

About the Opportunity

We are urgently seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor for a 3-month temporary contract to join our busy team based in Newcastle. This is a fast‑paced role ideal for a commercially astute professional available to start immediately and ready to hit the ground running.

Must have new build housing experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyse project costings, monitoring expenditure, and generating accurate commercial reports, including CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations).
  • Manage the subcontract procurement process, including drafting tender and contract documents.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and manage the full subcontractor payment cycle.
  • Identify, assess, and value contract variations and manage any contractual claims or disputes.
  • Perform commercial risk and value management to identify and develop responses to financial risks.
  • Ensure all commercial duties are carried out in accordance with project contracts and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a relevant sector (e.g., construction, civil engineering, housing).
  • Strong working knowledge of common contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Relevant qualifications.
