Job summary

Systech is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our London office with opportunities to travel across the UK. You will lead commercial processes, mentor a team, and work in a client‑facing consultancy environment on major projects.

The role requires a strong background in contracting, cost control and procurement, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (2:1 or higher preferred).
• Working towards RICS membership preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Understanding of tendering and procurement processes.
• Presentable and articulate.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for delivery of professional assignments under supervision.
• Support senior team members on major projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract.
• Prepare management accounts including project cost and value reporting.
• Subcontract procurement and management.
• Maintenance of project records.
• Change management including variations/compensation events.
• A sound working knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.

Role

We have several exciting opportunities available for Quantity Surveyors who are in a position to travel across the UK and have the flexibility to be away from home Monday to Friday. As a Quantity Surveyor you will provide leadership to the commercial team, establishing commercial processes and procedures alongside major main contractors. You will have a proven ability to lead and mentor a team, implementing new procedures and strategies alongside a history in a senior commercial position with UK main contractor. This is a consultancy role and you must therefore be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a client facing environment.

Responsibilities

• To take responsibility for the delivery of professional assignments under the supervision of a senior member of staff
• Supporting senior team members on key major projects
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract
• Preparation of management accounts including project cost and value reporting
• Subcontract procurement and management
• Maintenance of project records
• Change management including raising and valuing variations /compensation events
• A sound working knowledge of various standard forms of contracts including NEC and JCT

Individual

• BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (or similar, a 2:1 or higher preferred)
• Working towards being a Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (preferred)
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of tendering and procurement processes
• Presentable and articulate
• Excellent organiser with proven time management skills
