Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central Scotland

Company Overview

Our client is a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality roads, bridges, track, and infrastructure refurbishment projects across Scotland.

Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, supporting operational teams, and driving overall project performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Maximise valuations and ensure timely certification and payments.
  • Manage and agree contract variations efficiently.
  • Forecast costs and values across all project elements.
  • Work closely with operational teams to procure labour, materials, and subcontractors within budget and timescales.
  • Monitor on-site progress and issue required contractual notices on time.
  • Review and assess subcontractor quotations, ensuring best value and compliance.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and prepare final accounts accurately.
Requirements
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND, Degree, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role.
  • Background in bridges, roads, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Experience in concrete repair projects is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient with key cost management and estimating software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel to sites as required.
