Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or residential civil engineering sector.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and estimating/costing systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
• Conduct take-offs and prepare accurate tender submissions.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations.
• Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients.
• Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Liaise closely with site management teams and clients to resolve commercial queries.
• Ensure all documentation and records are maintained in line with company standards.
• Support commercial reporting and contribute to monthly financial reviews.

Skills

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or residential civil engineering sector

The Role
