Job description

Overview

We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a Gloucester based regional contractor. They work in the education, local authority, health care, commercial/industrial and leisure marketplaces and a majority of the work is either framework, negotiated or 2 stage bids. They operate between Birmingham and Bristol on schemes up to £8 million on new build and refurbishment schemes.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Bid and Estimating teams alongside the PM on preconstruction and bid work before taking schemes onto site.
• On site, procure packages, oversee the management of subcontractors and set up procedures for payments, valuations, re-measures, subcontractor engagement and pre-start meetings.
• Chair client meetings, manage the variation account, manage CVRs and other internal reporting metrics all the way through to final account.
• Have full commercial reporting authority for the scheme, forecast and manage the financial health of the scheme, and report into a visiting commercial manager.
• Full support and backing from a national contractor.
