Job summary

Emtec Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and help deliver a growing portfolio of infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the UK.

You’ll work with our Commercial Manager and project teams, taking commercial responsibility from early procurement through to final account, providing practical cost control, contract advice and value reporting to support on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience with standard forms of contract.
• Strong commercial, analytical and numerical skills.
• Good attention to detail and practical problem-solving.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Confidence working with project teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Experience within utilities, renewable energy, infrastructure or civils.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial and contractual advice across infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Maintain financial control across projects, including monthly cost and value reporting.
• Manage valuations and support timely certification and payments.
• Prepare and manage project cash flows.
• Monitor site progress and manage contractual notices where required.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from appointment through to valuation and final account.
• Support contractual matters including extensions of time, delays and programme-related issues.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and help ensure they are effectively managed.

Job description

Emtec Utility Services is continuing to grow across the UK, delivering infrastructure and renewable energy projects that support the transition to Net Zero.

As part of that growth, we’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the delivery of a growing portfolio of projects.

The Role

Working closely with our Commercial Manager and project delivery teams, you’ll take commercial responsibility across multiple infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

You’ll play a key role in managing costs, contracts, cash flow and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle, while providing practical advice and support to the wider team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing commercial and contractual advice across infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Maintaining strong financial control across your projects, including monthly cost and value reporting.
• Managing valuations and supporting timely certification and payments.

What We’re Looking For

Experience within utilities or renewable energy would be a real advantage, although we’d also be keen to hear from someone with strong commercial experience who is looking to move into the sector.
