Overview

Ivy Resource Group are recruiting for a skilled and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to support project delivery across healthcare and education schemes in the South. Our client is a Tier 1 contractor seeking an experienced and proactive professional to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is based in Exeter, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.

Our client is a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company. They deliver vital projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence, aviation, water and the environment.

The Role Entails

This is a key role within the commercial team, responsible for supporting the financial and contractual delivery of high-value public sector projects, particularly in the healthcare and education sectors.

The Quantity Surveyor will manage procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and contractual compliance while working alongside Project Managers and the wider commercial team.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration and valuations
  • Prepare accurate cost forecasts, reporting and final accounts
  • Support the preparation of tender and contract documentation
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure commercial targets are met
  • Assist in identifying and managing project risks and opportunities
  • Liaise with site and project teams to maintain cost control and reporting accuracy
  • Support client relationships and ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Contribute to cash flow forecasting and monthly applications
  • Assist with dispute resolution and value engineering initiatives
What We Need From You
  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor environment
  • Experience working on healthcare, education, or other public sector construction projects
  • Good knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms
  • Strong understanding of cost control, reporting and subcontract management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent)
  • RICS or equivalent membership desirable but not essential
