We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established main contractor based Exeter. The business has a strong presence in the South-West delivering projects across a variety of sectors including defence, education, healthcare and MOJ valuing up to £100mil. Projects will typically be covered across Devon / Cornwall.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing major packages within projects, reporting into the commercial lead on the scheme. As you progress, you will get the opportunity to run smaller projects and continue to progress your capabilities.

Key Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

  • Work alongside the pre-construction team through 2nd stage tenders
  • Manage sub-contract procurement
  • Manage sub-contractors accounts on site, dealing with variations
  • Manage monthly valuations and liaise with the client
  • Deal with final accounts

Key Requirements as Quantity Surveyor:

  • Hold a HNC or construction related degree
  • Have worked within a main contractor and have a proven track record of playing a key part in commercial teams
  • Have experience administering JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Have the full right to work in the UK and be happy to commute to Exeter
