Job summary

A well-established main contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor or experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Brighton team. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a similar role and possess strong attention to detail. A well-established main contractor based in Brighton is on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor, or experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to step up, to join their growing team. They work on all sorts of interesting projects across a range of sectors, including schools, commercial projects, one‑off private residential schemes and a variety of local authority type projects, generally up to £5M.

This is a great role for someone with some experience who’s ready to take the next step, with plenty of support from a down‑to‑earth, experienced commercial team.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Helping prepare and check tender documents, cost estimates, and bills of quantities
  • With oversight from the department head, keep projects on budget and running smoothly
Supporting valuations and payment applications
  • Getting involved in variations, contracts, and keeping financial records up to date
  • Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to keep everything on track
  • Learning loads while being hands‑on across a range of live projects
