Job summary

RG Setsquare Recruitment are recruiting for both a Quantity Surveyor and a Junior Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Southampton.

Our employee owned client provides affordable, quality property maintenance service to a range of both public and private sector clients managing all types of buildings of various construction and use. They have strategically located branches throughout the UK, providing a local presence throughout the regions in which they work, with all the assurance and resource of a national business structure.

  • Internal and external painting and decorating
  • Fire protective coatings and associated fire upgrade works
  • Wallpaper hanging and wallcoverings
  • Building repairs
  • Carpentry and joinery
  • Fascia, cladding and rainwater goods renewal
  • Kitchen and bathroom replacement
  • Pitched and flat roof replacement
  • Window and door replacement
  • Mechanical and electrical services
  • Property refurbishment
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) with accuracy and insight
  • Monitor project budgets and control costs across multiple contracts
  • Conduct valuations and manage subcontractor accounts
  • Provide commercial support to operational teams
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
About You
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a maintenance, Construction or FM environment. Or a Junior Quantity Surveyor eager join a successful maintenance company.
  • Strong understanding and hands‑on experience with CVRs
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., Excel, commercial management tools)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
