Qualifications

Quantity Surveyor

Location: Head Office (Dronfield, S18 2GR) & Site Locations (national travel may be required). Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + Company Car/Allowance. Contract: Full time, permanent. Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers across all assigned contracts.
  • Place all sub‑contract and material orders in line with programme requirements, ensuring best price and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and cost records and provide information to the finance team.
  • Produce and maintain detailed cost budgets for each project prior to commencement.
  • Provide accurate monthly cashflow and revenue forecasts for all active schemes.
  • Prepare and present monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), reviewing all cost heads and forecasted end costs.
  • Capture and agree contract variations promptly with both clients and supply chain partners.
  • Submit client valuations in accordance with contract terms, maximising cash position and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Support continuous commercial improvement and ensure all reporting meets SBS's Commercial Timetable.
Qualifications
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in energy efficiency, retrofit, or social housing projects.
  • Experience in managing or mentoring others.
