Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well-established and reputable Civil Engineering Contractor specialising in refurbishing and strengthening across roads, bridges, tracks, and infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in commercially managing multiple projects, providing assistance to operational teams, and contributing to the continued success of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Maximise valuations, ensure timely certification and payment
  • Manage contract variations promptly
  • Forecast costs and value of all trades
  • Coordinate with the operational team to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring timely and within-budget project completion
  • Monitor on-site progress and issue required notices according to contract procedures and timescales
  • Vet and ensure compliance of quotations with specifications, obtaining the most competitive bids
  • Prepare Final Accounts
  • Accurately manage subcontractor accounts to enhance contract efficiency
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience working on bridges, roads, and infrastructure projects is preferred
  • Concrete repair experience is desired
  • Organizational skills required for managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with key cost-based software packages
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel when required
