Job summary

RSE is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Asset Management team in Cumbernauld on a permanent basis. The role includes managing financial and commercial aspects of projects, while also preparing schedules and applications for payment.

The ideal candidate will have a RICS qualification, good IT skills, and a willingness to occasionally visit the Inverness office. Benefits include private healthcare, a hybrid working model, and 31 days holiday per year.

Qualifications

• Experience in NEC contracts would be beneficial.
• Ability to prepare Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates.
• Experience managing variations and valuations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze commercial progress of allocated projects.
• Negotiate final accounts with clients.

Job description

Our Asset Management team is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join us on a permanent basis to aid in the delivery of works to the Water industry, based in Cumbernauld. This role involves managing the financial and commercial aspects of projects and larger portfolios of frameworks.

Please note that you will be required to visit the Inverness office on occasion.

Key Duties

• Preparation of Activity Schedules, Bills of Quantities and Resource profiling.
• Preparation of Applications for Payment for submission to Client(s).
• Review project work scopes, notifying, and preparing variations as necessary.
• Sub-contract administration including developing sub-contract documents, reviewing, and agreeing valuations, managing variations, and negotiating final accounts.
• Analyse the commercial progress of allocated projects working closely with the project delivery team.
• Preparing internal reports such as financial reconciliation and anticipated project performance.
• Negotiating final account with Client(s).

Requirements

• RICS recognised qualification or equivalent in one or more of the following – Surveying, Construction, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to allow the preparation of Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates and other procurement documentation.
• Experience in contract final accounts including valuations and variations.
• Experience in NEC contracts would be beneficial.
• Good IT literacy, competency in Excel.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
