Role Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in located in the North West London area.

The Quantity Surveyor deliver cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality social housing projects, including planned maintenance, refurbishment, new-build developments, and responsive repairs. The role involves cost control, contract administration, procurement, valuations, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting regulatory and client requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and cashflow forecasts.
  • Monitoring and reporting of project costs against budgets.
  • Maintain cost databases and benchmark information for future projects.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports, CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), and financial summaries.
  • Preparing tender documentation for labour, materials, and subcontract packages.
  • Evaluate subcontract quotations, ensuring price accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in tender analysis and negotiation processes.
  • Manage variations/changes to the works and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Support the preparation and review of payment applications and certificates.
  • Monthly valuations for client and subcontractor accounts.
  • Support processing interim and final payments.
  • Verify completed works and quantities on-site, including measurement and take-offs.
  • Participate in site visits, progress meetings, and commercial discussions.
  • Ensure all work aligns with social housing regulations, building safety legislation, and organisational standards.
  • Support quality control processes, ensuring accurate documentation for audits.
  • Managing risk registers, early warnings, and change control procedures.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, design teams, and subcontractors.

Key Skills & Experience:
  • Holding a relevant qualification (e.g., BSc Quantity Surveying, HNC/HND in Construction).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of construction measurements and valuation principles.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a commercial team.
  • Experience within social housing, affordable housing, repairs & maintenance, or refurbishment.
  • Experience using estimating or cost-management software (COINS, Causeway, Procore, etc.).
Salary/Benefits:
  • Salary between £35,000 to £60,000 DOE
