Job summary

A premium design & build consultancy in London is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on high-end residential refurbishment projects. You will liaise with clients, manage costs, and work closely with architects. Ideal candidates possess previous Quantity Surveying experience, particularly in high-value projects. A degree in Quantity Surveying is desirable, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Job description

A really exciting new Quantity Surveyor job role to join a premium design & construct company in London that refurbishes premium high end London homes for high-net-worth individuals. They are expanding their in-house team.

You will be working on high end residential refurbishment projects in London, with construction values ranging between £300,000 and £3million.

Your QS job scope will be to cost the outline design for new projects for client approval.

You will then be the Quantity Surveyor on the approved and confirmed project, through to final account.

It is a critical responsibility of the QS to provide the client with a premium service and to ensure that costs and specifications are understood and agreed throughout the high value design and construction process.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Working with the in-house team of architects to cost a range of possible designs for client approval
  • Finalise detailed costs on the approved project design
  • Liaise with the client and in-house colleagues throughout the high value construction process
  • Assist with the procurement of materials
  • Handle subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Take responsibility for all cost control and cost reporting
  • Take responsibility for managing all variations and related approvals
  • Prepare final accounts and liaise with the client to ensure timely payment
  • Able to demonstrate interpersonal skills that ensure client satisfaction throughout the entire design and construction process
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Suitable candidates will have previous Quantity Surveying experience
  • Quantity Surveying experience will have been gained within both pre contract and post contract stages of construction
  • The ideal Quantity Surveying experience will have been gained within a residential refurbishment environment, ideally with high end premium projects similar to those to be built here
  • You will be living in London or easily able to commute into London on a daily basis
  • UK QS/Quantity Surveying experience is essential
  • Right to work in the UK is essential (client is not able to secure visas for non-UK applicants)
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying is desirable
  • MRICS would be advantageous but is not essential
