Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading groundworks and RC frame contractor in the Chelmsford area. You will manage commercial aspects across groundworks and RC frame packages, coordinating with the Project Manager and delivery team to maximise profitability.

The role suits a candidate with a civil engineering or groundworks background and a solid quantity surveying track record, capable of contract negotiation, procurement, variations, valuations, and final accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or RC frame sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with cost control and value engineering.
• Ability to negotiate contracts, monitor variations and manage payments.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support to the Project Manager and delivery team.
• Oversee groundworks/RC frame packages to maximise project profitability.
• Support development of junior commercial staff and ensure procurement compliance.

Quantity Surveyor required to join leading groundworks and RC frame contractor based in the Chelmsford area. The Quantity Surveyor will be overseeing groundworks and RC frame packages. The Quantity Surveyor will ideally come from a civil engineering or groundworks background with a solid quantity surveying background. The Quantity Surveyor will be managing the resources of a project lifecycle in order to ensure it achieves success of the project outcome and maximise profit provide planning, provision and monitoring of commercial support and assurance to the Project Manager and the project delivery team, pursuing own professional development and provide guidance and support to develop other commercial staff, showing competency in all commercial duties from contract negotiation to procurement, variations, valuations, payments to final accounts.
