Algo Research teamis responsible foralpha research across a wide range oftime-scales(fromhigh frequencytodays), design of monetisation/executionalgosand market impact modelling across all major asset classes (including Cash Equities, Futures, FX,Options).Wework inclosecollaborationwith varioussystematicresearch teamsacross Man Groupto maximise realizedP&Lof strategies.AlgoResearchis one of the key focus areas for Man.

We are looking for a Quantitative Researcher with a primary focus on Futures whose responsibilities will include:

• Creatinghigh quality intraday predictivealphasignalsinfutureson the scale ofsub-secondtohours, from order book and alternative datasets
• Applying ML techniques to alpha research
• Solvingoptimalexecution optimization problems
• IdentifyinghighestP&L opportunities
• Close collaboration withresearchersacross theMan Systematic

Technology and Business Skills :

• Ability to think creatively,tocomeupwithand implement original research and ideas
• Exceptionalanalyticalskills; recognised by peers as an expert inone’sdomain
• Deep understanding of statistics/MLand an ability to applyit to real world problems

Advantageous

• Knowledge of market structure, participants, tradingvenuesand microstructureof at least one ofthemajor asset classes
• Experience in intradayalpharesearch
• Experience in building ML models
• Experiencewithhandling large data sets and tick data

Personal Attributes

• PhD or exceptional Masters /Bachelor’squalification in a quantitative subject
• Intellectualintegritywith a keenly analytic approach to problem solving
• Ability to deliver projects with high commercial value
• Hands-on attitude; willing to get involved with technology and projects across the firm
• Self-organised with the ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects and with competing business demands and priorities
• Strong interpersonal skills,establishand maintain a close working relationship with quantitative researchers,technologists,traders and seniorbusiness peoplealike
• Confident communicator,able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
