Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Quantitative Developer in London to modernise our analytics infrastructure for Global Markets. You will maintain production libraries, build automated reporting, and develop real-time streaming capabilities to support trading decisions.

Job Description Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities.

Accountabilities

Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets. Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions. In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics. Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries. Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.

About the Role

Join Barclays as a Quantitative Developer in our Global Markets Linear Rates Quantitative Analytics team. In this role, you will drive the modernisation of our linear rates analytics infrastructure: maintaining and extending production analytics libraries, building automated reporting pipelines, and developing real-time streaming capabilities. Required Qualifications
  • A master's degree or equivalent in Financial/Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Ownership mentality and ability to support multi-faceted initiatives end-to-end

Additional Highly Valued Skills
  • Knowledge of interest rate curve construction techniques
  • Experience with event-driven or stream-processing architectures (KDB+, Kafka etc.)
  • Experience building automated workflows and data pipelines in a quantitative or trading environment
  • Experience working within large, complex C++ and Python codebases

This role is based in London.
