Job summary

Lumentum Operations LLC is seeking a proactive Quality Technician to join our Quality Assurance team in a high‑tech manufacturing environment. You will help ensure products meet quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives across the production of semiconductor wafers and chips.

Your role includes audits, inspections, CAPA support, and documentation updates while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to maintain ISO9001 compliance and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience carrying out quality audits and inspections.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is required.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance activities across manufacturing operations.
  • Verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support the Quality Engineer with quality control activities.
  • Conduct routine process audits, ESD audits, and verification activities.
  • Assist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) management.
  • Complete shop floor inspections, spot checks, and process monitoring.
  • Drive and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support customer and internal quality audits.
  • Assist with site calibration activities.
  • Carry out Goods In and Goods Out inspections.
  • Support the internal audit programme.
  • Monitor and support change control activities.
  • Develop and update QA work instructions and documentation.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Quality Assurance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-tech manufacturing environment, supporting the production of advanced Indium Phosphide semiconductor wafers and chips. As a Quality Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping maintain compliance with ISO9001 and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance activities across manufacturing operations.
  • Verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support the Quality Engineer with quality control activities.
  • Conduct routine process audits, ESD audits, and verification activities.

About You

You'll be a motivated individual with a passion for quality and continuous improvement. You enjoy problem-solving, working collaboratively, and maintaining high standards in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience carrying out quality audits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
  • BTEC ONC/OND in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering (or similar), or 3-5 years' experience in a Quality Assurance role within manufacturing.
  • Calibration experience.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Agile, PROMIS, or similar manufacturing systems.

  • Willingness to work rotating early and late shifts (Monday-Friday).
