Quality Technician – Manufacturing

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE

Working Hours: Mon – Thurs: 8am-5pm | Fri: 8am-2pm

What You'll Be Doing as a Quality Technician

This dual-role offers the best of both worlds: hands‑on inspection and high‑level quality support. You’ll report to the QM and work closely with cross‑functional teams in production, design, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in‑process, and final inspections
• Support root‑cause analysis and 8D investigations
• Monitor quality metrics and present improvement suggestions
• Assist with ISO 9001 audits and compliance tasks
• Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions
• Occasionally build and test assemblies for fault diagnosis

Essential Skills and Experience

• Quality experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong grasp of inspection techniques
• Confidence with technical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP systems
• ISO 9001 internal auditor trained (or willingness to become certified)

Desirable Attributes

• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, hands‑on mindset
