Job summary

Orion Electrotech Reading is seeking a Quality Technician to support manufacturing quality across the production line. You will perform audits, ensure product conformance, and help resolve non-conforming materials.

The role requires A-Level or equivalent, manufacturing experience, and great communication. Proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel is expected; ISO 9001 or AS9100 knowledge is a plus.

Quality Technician

Location - Reading
Working Hours - 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Salary - £33,000 - £36,000

Are you an experienced Quality Technician with a background in manufacturing? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support quality standards across a production environment.

As a Quality Technician, you will provide frontline quality support, helping to ensure manufacturing processes are followed correctly while identifying and assisting with the resolution of non-conforming materials and process issues.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Technician

• Conduct product and process audits in line with audit schedules.
• Perform quality control and production line audits to assess product conformity.
• Support training and induction activities to improve quality awareness.
• Communicate quality, product, and safety-related information effectively across the business.
• Build strong working relationships with production, engineering, quality, and supervisory teams.
• Manage and control non-conforming materials, including associated documentation and reporting.
• Assist with quality reporting, gauge instructions, capability studies, and Gauge R&R activities.

About You

• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing and quality experience is essential.
• Degree or HND in a technical discipline is advantageous.
• Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable presenting information and responding to queries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 is beneficial.
