W Talent is delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturing company based in Belper, Derby, who are seeking a Quality Technician to join their Quality team. This role plays a key part in supporting quality standards, compliance, and continuous improvement activities across the business, ensuring products and processes meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Role Details

The Quality Technician will provide essential support to the Quality department by maintaining documentation, supporting process improvements, and ensuring product and system compliance. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality procedures are correctly implemented, audited, and continuously improved across manufacturing operations. This is a permanent, days‑based role, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday offering a supportive and balanced working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Quality team in maintaining and improving quality management systems, processes, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure product quality standards and inspection processes are consistently applied.
  • Assist in developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and inspection records.
  • Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Support training and awareness sessions to promote a strong quality culture across all departments.
  • Carry out product and process checks, ensuring non‑conformances are recorded, investigated, and resolved effectively.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities for new systems and processes to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Support the production of accurate quality reports, including defect trends, root cause analysis, and performance KPIs.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in quality and manufacturing processes.
Required Skills
  • Strong technical and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in a Quality Technician or similar role.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, ISO standards, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP or database systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection data.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
