Job summary

Vatn Systems is seeking a QA Technician to own incoming inspection and floor-level nonconformance control for the S6 and S12 product lines. You will implement inspection plans, document nonconforming material in real time, and maintain calibrated tools on the shop floor.

You will build the incoming inspection program from the ground up, defining criteria, sampling plans, and records to keep data trustworthy as production scales.

Qualifications

• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Inspect machined parts and electrical/electromechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with nonconformance/MRB processes.
• Experience supporting or managing a calibration program.
• Detail-oriented and organized; able to manage workload.
• Clear communicator with production, engineering, and QA.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or certificate a plus.

Job description

Serves as the company's first dedicated QA Technician, working alongside the QA Manager and Quality Engineer to own incoming inspection, machine shop part inspection, and floor-level nonconformance control across the S6 and S12 product lines. Executes inspection plans, contains and documents nonconforming material in real time, and keeps every tool and gauge on the floor within calibration. Beyond day-to-day inspection, this role builds out the incoming inspection program from the ground up, establishing the criteria, sampling plans, and records that keep inspection data trustworthy as both product lines scale to production.

Required Skill

• Proficient with standard inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and basic GD&T
• Comfortable inspecting both machined mechanical parts and electrical/electromechanical assemblies, including cables, harnesses, and PCBAs
• Familiarity with nonconformance/MRB processes
• Experience supporting or managing a calibration program
• Detail-oriented and organized, comfortable managing your own workload on the floor
• Clear communicator who can coordinate effectively with production, engineering, and QA
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate a plus

Preferred Skills

• Experience in start-up environments
• CMM experienceExperience inspecting machined metal parts (aluminum, titanium, or similar)
• Experience with electrical/electromechanical inspection — cable and harness assemblies, PCBAs, connectors
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQIA) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
• Experience helping stand up an incoming inspection program
