Business Need / Purpose of Role:
Lead the Quality Control Team, managing day‑to‑day priorities, providing expertise with regards to measurement techniques, problem solving, and supporting the delivery of conforming product and associated documentation.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
Objectives:
- Lead the Quality Control Team providing day‑to‑day leadership supporting business priorities
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness with regards to all aspects of the QC Teams responsibilities
- Provide direction on measurement and test methods
- Carry out dimensional inspection of components and assemblies using a variety of hand held and table mounted metrology equipment
- Carry out visual inspection to include castings, forgings, bar, machined surfaces and complex assemblies
- Undertake surface finish, hardness and PMI checks
- Support and validate test & witness inspection activities
- Raise and update non‑conformance reports after identifying deviations from drawings and technical specifications. Drive containment actions and support root cause analysis / preventive actions
- Maintain & control calibration of company measuring equipment, ensuring that only calibrated equipment is used where necessary
- Assist in the internal audit process as required and support measures that drive adherence to company procedures
- Represent the company with customers, auditors and 3rd party inspectors, providing technical assistance and problem resolution as required
- Support Operations and the Business with regards to deliveries
- Ensure all work personally undertaken is carried out in compliance with current H&S rules and safety systems, and is in line with the requirements of the duty of care document
- Support Goods Receiving, In Process and Final Inspection
- Assist in the general operation of the Quality department, supporting improvement activities as required
- Undertake assignments as directed by the Quality Director, working in line with the overall business and functional objectives
- Identify training, and development needs for the team
- Ensure all work personally undertaken within the client is carried out in compliance with current H&S rules and client safety systems and is in line with the requirements of the client duty of care document

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
- Technical apprentice to graduate level qualification with a Quality / Manufacturing background
- Able to read complex drawings and technical specifications
- Understands geometric tolerancing
- Experienced user of CMMs, mechanical & electrical inspection measuring equipment, hardness and PMI testing equipment
- Experienced in the use of Quality tools and techniques
- Knowledge of alloys, casting, NDT, welding and coating processes would be advantageous
- Valve / process industry experience an advantage
