Job summary

JLR in Solihull is seeking a Quality Problem Solving Engineer to lead investigations into complex product quality concerns and partner with manufacturing, engineering and supplier teams to deliver sustainable improvements. • Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience with knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies.
• Structured problem-solving tools and Six Sigma approaches.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with passion for improving quality and outcomes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments with resilience and initiative.
• Green Belt certification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured problem-solving activities to identify root causes and deliver sustainable quality improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supplier and quality teams to resolve product and process concerns.
• Support quality projects to strengthen plant performance and enhance customer experience.
• Coach and facilitate complex quality investigations and embed lessons learned into future programmes.
• Drive quality-at-source principles and implement innovative solutions to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

As a Quality Problem Solving Engineer, you’ll play a key role in resolving complex product quality concerns and improving the customer experience. Working with manufacturing, engineering and supplier teams, you’ll help shape better outcomes, expand your expertise and learn from some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What You’ll Need

• Holding a degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience, alongside knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies
• Applying structured problem-solving tools and techniques, including Six Sigma approaches
• Building effective relationships through strong communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
• Demonstrating a customer-focused mindset with a passion for improving quality and customer outcomes
• Working collaboratively in fast-paced environments while showing resilience, initiative and a growth mindset
• Green Belt certification would be advantageous.
