A leading engineering company in London is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or manufacturing, particularly in the rail or electrical sectors. Quality Manager (Rail) £Up to 55k + Benefits

An experienced Quality Manager is urgently required within a factory/ electrical engineering equipment environment. A background from the rail industry or similar (e.g. network rail) is ideal.

This role is onsite (not hybrid).

Key Responsibilities
  • All day-to-day compliance allowing for the strategic development and progression of the business.
  • Fully responsible for the Quality Management System, including point of contact for all quality issues.
  • Full responsibility for finished product inspection and testing, ensuring full compliance with company and customer expectations.
  • Lead regular focused Quality Meetings. Lead and manage PPAPs as required.
  • Lead and manage calibration as required.
  • Plan, manage and support audits: carry out internal audits, handle customer quality audits.
  • Represent the company during supplier quality audits.
  • Represent the company during ISO9001 audits, and ensure full compliance with all requirements.
  • Initiate or raise NCRs or G8Ds for all quality failures, or where appropriate.
  • Develop, maintain and progress quality improvement projects and processes.
  • Work towards gaining accreditation and approval for ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (OH&S).
  • Support the Managing Director and Senior Management Team (SMT).
  • Compile and report monthly strategic imperatives (KPIs) relative to the Department.
  • Compile and report Departmental targets, objectives and forecasts.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Background in Engineering, Quality, Rail, Electrical or from a factory setting desirable.
  • Essential - Previous Quality Management experience within an engineering or manufacturing or electrical industries.
  • Essential - Full understanding of ISO9001 requirements.
  • Desirable - Full understanding of ISO14001 & ISO45001 requirements.
  • Desirable - ProgressPlus and Sage software packages. Microsoft Office, FMEA process.
