A leading manufacturing firm is looking for a Quality Manager to oversee a quality team and foster continuous improvement. The ideal candidate should have experience in manufacturing environments and proven leadership skills. Role: Quality Manager - Department Manager
Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 per annum + bonus, pension, private medical, 26 days holidays, bank holidays, on‑site gym. Hours: 8am–4pm, Mon–Fri with flexible start/finish. Location: commutable from Fareham, Southampton, Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Havant, Chichester and surrounding areas.
We are recruiting for a reputable manufacturer seeking a resilient, patient, and committed leader with strong people‑management skills. The role requires a change‑management mindset and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities. If you thrive on driving continuous improvement and can lead a team of up to 12 quality staff, this is the opportunity for you.
Responsibilities include managing the quality team, improving quality systems, overseeing compliance (BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC/PEFC), handling customer and supplier complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions (through the TPM structure), leading continuous improvement projects, fostering a quality culture, training and coaching staff, and working closely with the technical team on new product launches.
Requirements: Experience as a Quality Manager or Technical Manager (department manager) in manufacturing (FMCG, food, dairy, packaging preferred). Proven leadership of a quality team, knowledge of BRC standards, strong root‑cause analysis, continuous improvement, customer complaint handling, and change‑management. Resilience and approachability are essential.
