  • Develop and maintain QMS policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Lead QC investigations into non-conforming products.
  • Conduct internal audits and manage non-conformances.
  • Train and support managers on quality-related matters.
  • Oversee quality control processes across various packaging formats.
  • Act as main contact for external audits, ensuring compliance.
  • Support food safety initiatives within the HACCP team.

Quality Assurance Manager - Food/Drink Sector

We are supporting a leading manufacturer based on the Herefordshire/Powys border for a Quality Assurance Manager. This is a key role within a multi-format manufacturing facility. The role is ideal for an experienced quality professional looking to take the next step in their career, leading the Quality Assurance function and ensuring regulatory and industry compliance across all production areas.

What You Can Expect

  • Hours: 40 hours per week on site, Monday to Friday

What You Will Be Doing
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining QMS policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Leading QC investigations into non-conforming products and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conducting internal audits, identifying areas for improvement, and managing non-conformances.
  • Supporting and training other managers and departments on quality-related matters.
  • Ensuring compliance across all packaging formats, including glass, PET, cans, and Tetra Pak.
  • To lead and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • To oversee quality control and inspection processes across raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.
  • To be the main point of contact for external audits (BRC and multiple retailer standards), ensuring the business is always 'audit ready'.
  • To take a key role within the HACCP team and support food safety initiatives.
  • To manage a small QA team, providing guidance, training, and conducting performance reviews.
What We Are Looking For
  • Extensive experience as a quality professional ideally within the FMCG / food or drink manufacturing.
  • Level 3 HACCP certification and Certified Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Analytically minded, with strong problem-solving capabilities under pressure.
  • Flexible, proactive, and positive approach to work.
  • Excellent IT skills
