Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group is seeking a Quality Manager for a leading food manufacturer in West Bromwich (West Midlands). The role focuses on maintaining the Quality Management System, HACCP and TACCP, and supporting audits and supplier compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in a Quality/Technical role in food manufacturing, strong knowledge of UK/EU legislation, and holds an Internal/Lead Auditor qualification plus Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety.

Qualifications

QUALITY MANAGER NEEDED IN WEST BROMWICH (WEST MIDLANDS)

Are you an experienced Quality Manager, QA Manager, Compliance Manager, Technical Manager, Deputy Technical Manager, Head of Technical, Head of Quality or Site Technical Manager seeking a new job opportunity, and have you got previous experience from within the food manufacturing sector?!

We are looking for a Quality Manager tojoin a leading food manufacturer based in West Bromwich (West Midlands), the working hours for this role are day shifts Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), and the annual salary is up to £52,000 per annum (DOE).

This role will be predominantly documentation focused, and the hiring manager is lookingfor someone who holds an Internal / Lead Auditor qualification.

You will work closely with the Technical team, and the hiring manager would ideally like someone who is more documentation, policy and 3rd party management focused by ensuring paperwork, specifications and customer / external bodies (auditors etc) relations are managed.

What You Will Do:

• Keep the site Quality Management System running at a consistently high standard, including QMS, HACCP and TACCP plans.
• Lead preparation for announced and unannounced third-party audits, such as BRCGS and major customer audits.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal non-conformances, customer complaints, and audit findings.
• Oversee micro testing schedules, environmental monitoring, and sampling protocols for raw materials and finished product.
• Manage customer technical portal submissions, specification approvals, and delivery of technical KPI reporting.
• Strengthen day-to-day food safety culture through training, clear communication, and active engagement with every department.

What You Will Bring:

• A minimum of 3 years experience in a Quality Manager, QA Manager, Compliance Manager, Technical Manager or Deputy Technical Manager role in a high-care, high-risk, or ambient food manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of UK/EU food legislation, labelling requirements, allergen management, and raw material traceability.
• A commitment to quality, with proven success supporting and improving BRCGS audit outcomes.
• Internal / Lead Auditor qualification
• Minimum of a Level 3 in HACCP and Food Safety

Desirable:

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline
• Level 4 HACCP qualification and Level 4 Food Safety in Manufacturing
