Job summary

Vestas Isle of Wight is seeking a Quality Manager to lead Production Quality and drive continuous improvement in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. You will coach engineers, oversee product and process quality, conduct root-cause analysis and maintain ISO 9001 readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • ISO 9001 internal or lead auditor experience or certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt minimum baseline.
  • Experience with quality core tools and governance.
  • Quality audits, customer requirements, and compliance management.
  • Structured problem solving (A3/8D/5 Whys) and process ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Production Quality team.
  • Oversee product and process quality across the factory.
  • Manage preventive quality engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 readiness and QMS integrity.
  • Manage audits and supplier/customer quality interfaces.
  • Use data insights to drive strategic quality decisions.
  • Represent Quality in strategic projects and forums.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Manager to manage our Production Quality organization of engineers and technicians. In this role, you will coach and develop a motivated team, building capability, encouraging innovation, and creating an environment where people can perform at their best within a busy manufacturing environment which operates 24/7.

You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving quality standards across the manufacturing site, ensuring full alignment with Vestas requirements and industry standards. By placing safety and quality at the center of all decisions, you will help enhance productivity, improve customer satisfaction, and support the delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities

Every improvement you make will directly contribute to the production of renewable energy solutions used around the world, helping accelerate the global transition to sustainable energy.

  • Lead and develop the Production Quality team.
  • Oversee product and process quality across the factory to ensure consistent delivery of high standards.
  • Manage preventive quality engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Maintain the local Quality Management System and ISO 9001 readiness.
  • Manage internal, external, and customer quality audits.
  • Use quality performance data and insights to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Represent Quality in strategic projects and stakeholder forums.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • ISO 9001 Internal or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification as a minimum.
  • Experience with Quality Core Tools, including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC.
  • Quality certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Experience as a Quality Specialist, Non-conformity Case Handler, or Quality Approver.
  • Experience in managing quality compliance, audits, and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated quality ownership and governance mindset.
  • Experience applying preventive quality engineering methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems and audit processes.
  • Demonstrated structured problem-solving skills using methodologies such as A3, 8D and 5 Whys.
  • Ability to build quality capabilities and support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to engage, develop, and motivate teams.
  • High level of technical knowledge within manufacturing and quality management.
  • Demonstrates decision quality, delivers results, builds effective teams, and instills trust.
