Overview

A precision engineering manufacturer based in Leeds is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of product quality, quality systems and production support across their facility. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of quality within the site, working closely with production and sales teams to maintain the highest standards. This position will lead a small team of technical quality inspectors and ensure continued compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements, while driving ongoing improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop the company's ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems
  • Monitor product conformance and lead improvement activities
  • Support production and sales with technical quality issues
  • Investigate and manage non-conformances and customer complaints
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the quality inspection team
  • Support corrective and preventive action processes
Key Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within manufacturing, quality, engineering, or a related industrial environment
  • Proven experience maintaining documented quality management systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with a hands-on, proactive approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel occasionally
Desirable
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quality or Industrial Engineering
  • Background in aerospace or precision component manufacturing
  • Experience with SPC, PPAPs, FAIs, and mechanical component inspection
