Overview

Jackson Hogg are exclusively supporting a specialist manufacturing business in the County Durham area on a Quality Manager position.

The Quality Manager will serve as a key part of the Senior Leadership Team on site and will lead a team of Quality professionals.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Quality Manager to lead the Quality Department within a busy manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for maintaining the QMS and ensuring product integrity and driving continual improvement across all manufacturing and testing areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Quality Department, developing a high performing and accountable team culture
  • Maintain and continuously improve the company's QMS in line with ISO9001 accreditation
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions
  • Control traceability and certification, ensuring certificates of testing and conformity accurately reflect product data
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve yield and enhance process efficiency
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and customers to resolve quality issues and ensure full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Provide training, mentorship and development opportunities for quality staff, apprentices and trainees
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO9001 QMS (lead auditor preferred)
  • Hands on understanding of relevant indsutrial testing and inspection processes
  • Experience managing and developing multidisciplinary quality teams
  • Competent in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong communication, leadership and documentation skills, with a methodical and practical approach
  • Form engineering or quality related qualification
  • Proactive and quality driven with a passion for improvement
  • Detail oriented and technically precise
  • Effective leader who builds confidence and accountability within teams
  • Committed to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and product integrity
