Job description

Fortis Recruitment are partnering with a great engineering company in Coventry area to recruit a quality manager to lead their quality control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering against inspection targets and will look to improve efficiencies within the department. You will be managing a team of 9 inspectors on a daily basis, this will include forecasting output and then making sure the team deliver to this. The quality manager will also be responsible for developing the QC team in terms of training, looking at the current SOPs, looking at the equipment being used and analysing the end to end process.

The inspection team are working with precision machines components to very tight tolerances so experience in a similar environment is essential, we are looking at aerospace, F1 or medical devices although experience other industries will be considered. The company have a mixture of components machined in-house and from sub-contract machine shops. The quality manager will be familiar with ISO : 9001 and ideally AS : 9100, IATF : 16949 or ISO : 13485, having internal or lead auditor status is a benefit but having worked within, and ensuring SOPs are compliant, with the standards is essential.

The quality manager will be responsible for quality inspection plans and inspection logs, support NPI / NPD projects, manage calibration of equipment and conduct risk assessments on the QC areas.
