Job summary

A leading global snack company in Chirk is seeking a Quality Manager to ensure the highest quality standards in production. You will be responsible for leading the quality strategy, managing departmental budgets, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in quality assurance and project management and is skilled at leading cross-functional teams. This is a full-time opportunity with no relocation support available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality, operations or R&D is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies.

You ensure quality in the factory and are responsible for meeting quality targets. You are fully responsible for the people, machinery and the identification and elimination of quality losses across site. You will grow your team’s capabilities and coordinate departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and GFSI standards. In this role, you report directly to the plant manager with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.

How you will contribute

Working closely with operations and engineering teams, you will be responsible for setting the site’s quality strategy and ensure that all quality objectives, goals and targets in the factory (including regional and global commitments) are achieved. You will develop and track your department’s budget and eliminate losses. With your team, you will conduct regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan how targets will be met, executing the plan and periodically checking and taking action to stay on track. In addition, you will ensure that there is strict adherence with all appropriate laws, food safety quality standards and consumer requirements of all manufactured products and manage crisis situations internally and externally in ways that support the company’s image, policies and business. As a people leader, you are responsible for structuring of the department to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver on plant objectives, set and assess performance goals, and coach and mentor team members.

You will focus on leading a strong quality culture through coaching and engagement of all site teams and use of lean quality management tools to eliminate quality losses.

  • Working with customers on quality related issues
