Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Quality Management Lead for a major defence project at Aldermaston. You will ensure client quality requirements are met across the full project life cycle, reporting directly to the Portfolio Head of Quality.

The role leads a team of quality professionals, drives audits and continuous improvement, and engages with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on contractual quality plans and KPIs. Security clearance is required or achievable.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Control Management role in construction or regulated industry.
  • Proven leadership in quality assurance environments with strong results.
  • CQI Membership - Chartered Quality Professional (Preferred).
  • Experience on Civil Nuclear and Defence sites.
  • ISO 9001 Lead auditor qualifications.
  • Experience supporting 3rd party Audits ISO 9001.
  • Experience carrying out Internal audits and Supply Chain audits.
  • Ability to generate Quality procedures & work instructions including Inspection and Test Plans and Project Quality Plans.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and with Clients/Third parties.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks within tight programme constraints.
  • Ability to analyse situations objectively.
  • Good negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
  • Security clearance in the UK or eligible to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Quality professionals to deliver a key project.
  • Lead investigations of non-conformities and issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead and report on the Client Feedback process.
  • Create Project Quality Plans and deploy contractual/client requirements within the team and supply chain.
  • Plan and monitor Inspection and Test Plans for manufacture and on-site works.
  • Ensure lifetime quality record review and project handover.
  • Coordinate and improve efficiency of manufacturing documentation reviews.
  • Create and implement the project audit schedule and address findings promptly.
  • Support 3rd party/Client audits.
  • Create Quality reports and dashboards for monthly reviews; maintain KPI data.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion cost efficiencies through the ValueUp process.

Quality Management Lead

Amentum are currently recruiting for a Quality Management Lead to join our team, the role is a key position within a major defence project in Aldermaston. The role of Quality Management Lead is to ensure the client quality requirements are complied with across the full project life cycle (Design, Procurement, Manufacture, Testing, Shipping, Construction/Installation, Test/Commissioning and Project. You will be reporting directly to the Portfolio Head of Quality.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a team of Quality professionals to deliver a key project.
  • Responsible for managing and investigating project Non-conformities and Issues and undertaking actions to resolve issues relating to the implementation of Quality and bring about improvements and support other functions in these actions.
  • Leading and reporting on the Client Feedback process.
  • Production of Project Quality Plans and deployment of key contractual and client requirements within both the internal Amentum team and Supply Chain.
  • Project Quality Planning including the creation, review, acceptance and ongoing monitoring of Inspection and Test Plans for both manufacture and on-site installation works.
  • Ensuring concurrent Lifetime Quality record review and compilation and project Handover.
  • Coordinative, monitor and improve efficiency of manufacturing documentation reviews where applicable.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing the project audit schedule and prompt resolution of findings.
  • Supporting 3rd Party/Client audits.
  • Creation of Quality reports and dashboards to be presented in monthly project reviews and maintaining Client and Amentum KPI`s.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Championing cost efficiencies through the Amentum ValueUp process.
Here’s What You’ll Need
  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Control Management role and from a Construction background with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Proven leadership experience working in a quality assurance/control environment withing a highly regulated industry.
  • CQI Membership - Chartered Quality Professional (Preferred)
  • Experience of working on Civil Nuclear and Defence sites.

  • Experience of supporting 3rd party Audits ISO 9001.
