Qualifications

  • Skilled in root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Quality Inspector (Precision Engineering)

Location:

Hinckley, Leicestershire

Salary:

£37,000-£42,000 per annum

Hours:

Monday – Thursday (4-day week)

  • Week 1-2: 06:00 – 15:45
  • Week 3-4: 15:45 – 01:30

The Duties
  • Perform inspections on in-process and finished components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Use precision measurement tools and first principle techniques for accurate assessments
  • Operate CMM equipment (PC-DMIS preferred); programming experience is advantageous
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods during inspections
  • Inspect high-precision, tight-tolerance machined and assembled parts
  • Document and communicate inspection results clearly to relevant teams
  • Maintain and manage calibration equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with production teams to uphold quality standards and resolve issues
  • Support general quality assurance activities as required
The Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a quality inspection role within aerospace or precision engineering
  • Strong understanding of FAIR AS9102, Control Plans, FMEA, and visual inspection techniques
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or within a team
