Quality Inspector – Precision Engineering

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Inspector to assume full ownership of inspection and quality control processes within a leading precision engineering environment. This is a key position for someone who takes pride in accuracy and wants to develop and lead the inspection function as part of a close-knit team. You’ll work with advanced metrology and inspection systems, ensuring components meet exacting tolerances for industries such as Formula 1, motorsport, and aerospace.

Quality Inspector – Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the inspection and quality assurance function.
  • Inspect precision components and tooling to tight tolerances.
  • Operate, program, and maintain a range of inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Verify components against engineering drawings, CAD data, and customer specifications.
  • Record and report inspection results accurately.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure equipment is in excellent condition.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
Inspection Equipment Experience (Desirable)
  • CMM systems (Mitutoyo, DEA, or similar)
  • Optical scanners, profile projectors, microscopes
  • Surface measurement machines and hardness testers
  • Keyence XM Series handheld probe systems
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in precision component inspection within manufacturing or toolmaking.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Skilled in manual and automated metrology equipment.
  • CMM programming or operation experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and inspection documentation.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical, quality-driven mindset.
